Abstract

Underwater oil storage system comprising an oil storage reservoir provided with a buoyancy control reservoir and with means for mooring it to the sea bed, oil and water filling orifices for the storage reservoir and a water filling orifice for the buoyancy reservoir, means for charging and discharging oil and water to or from the storage reservoir in complementary relationship and means for admitting or discharging air and water to or from the buoyancy reservoir to control the buoyancy of the storage system in such a way as to maintain a relatively low buoyancy at all times.
