Abstract

In the parent patent, elastomers were conditioned for transport and storage, to stop sticking to themselves or their wrappings, by coating with a high polymer which forms an anti-adhesive film, but which, during working of the elastomer, copolymerises with it without affecting its props. The high polymers was pref. a sequenced copolymer of styrene and butadiene. Here the high polymer coating is given a coating of a powdered product, chemically compatible with the elastomer, pref. a deriv. of a fatty acid such as a salt, ester or ether-salt, esp. a metal salt such as zinc stearate or laurate in quantity of is not >1, pref. 0.02% of the wt. of elastomer. The high polymer coating and powder coating are incorporated in the elastomer, working without altering its props.
