Abstract
The addn. of an organophosphite (=5 wt.%) to polymers contg. tris-(2,3-dibromopropyl)phosphate, greatly improves the flame-resistant properties of the polymers. Pref. 2 wt.% phosphite such as trialkyltriaryl- dialkylaryl- and/or diarylalkylphosphite is present. The total wt. of flame-preventive, incl. the phosphate, in the polymer is 3-25 pref. 5-15 wt.%. The phosphite is used in thermoplastic polymers.
