Abstract
Moisture content meter of the type in which a sample is placed between condenser plates and the measured capacity is related to the percentage of moisture in the sample; inconsistent distribution and different degrees of compaction of the sample between condenser plates, which can lead to false readings is eliminated by using an automatic loading device, which comprises a radially divided, cylindrical feed hopper with a multi-sector, rotary shutter plate on its outlet into the condenser. The shutter plate may be torsion spring loaded to an open position and held in the closed position by a small catch, when the operator actuates the catch release, limited rotation of the spring loaded shutter automatically loads the condenser to a constant pattern.
