Abstract

A unit constructed fuel element lattice support of intersecting plates, partic. applicable to pressurised and boiling water type rectors. The lattice can be arranged to provide bottom fuel elements support or top suspension. The basic constructional elements are cruciform shaped pillars between which are fixed unit sized plates in a composite lattice assembly, the pillar and plate abutting faces being profiled for welding. Circumferential attachment to the enclosing ring plate is afforded by junction pieces of varying design according to requirements. Lattice size is determined according to core parameters. The unit type construction offers ease of assembly and prodn. economies.
