Abstract

An electrically conductive yarn is developed to give textiles and garments an anti-static effect by combining a metallic thread with a thread of natural, semi-synthetic or synthetic fibres. The two are twisted together to give a combined yarn which matches the formula:- S2dm >= df >=5; where df is the titre of the fibre thread, dm the titre of the metallic thread and S the density of the metal used.
