Abstract

Cold pilger mill makes use of the torque ad intertia-force counterbalancing principle incorporated in patents DT 962062, 1064461 ans 1067758, with the utilisation of roller instead of rollers jaws, to increase output by 2-2.5 times in cold pilger mill rolling. This is facilitated by increasing bloom feed speed at constant roller pressure, or by increasing working speed at a corresp. lower roll-stand pressure; this is made possible by the increased pressure that can be applied is cold-rolling, as opposed to hot-rolling.
