Abstract

Bearing rings and similar objects are produced from smooth cylindrical workpieces by positioning workpiece between two shaping members, of which one or both are profiling rollers, and using these to roll the workpiece into shape. Material pressed laterally across the workpiece axis is displaced outwards to such an extent that it is pushed beyond the original workpiece width and to a certain degree lateral protruding edges are formed.
