Abstract

A cover stip for expansin joints in buildings and structures comprises a plane strip of flexible material with an insulating component attached to it; the semi-stiffed edges of the strip extending beyond the insulation are furnished with means for holding a stiffening element. The holder pref. comprises a hollow duct in the semi-stiff edge portion at a sufficient distance to permit the semi-stiff edge to bend relative to the plane central portion. Specif. the main strip is an extrudable polymer and the insulating central band a relatively compressible foamed polymer, while the reinforcing strips may be of steel.
