Abstract
Amplifier is as in Claim 1 of the parent patent. The pumping unit for the frustroconical active element comprises a series of frustroconical discharge tubes surrounding the element, with the same conicity. Pref. the active element is mounted such that it can be oriented and rotated about the optical axis of the amplifier assembly. The element and pumping unit are within an enclosure which can receive a silicone coolant fluid, e.g. a methylphenylpolysiloxane.
