Abstract

Compsn. contains triglyceride of the following aliphatic fatty acids in the amounts: 12C acids, 2-6%; 12C acids 6-14%; 14C acids, 4-9%; 16C acids 15-30%; monoolefinic 18C acids 25-40%; satd. 18C acids, 10-25%f polyunsatd. 18C acids, 4-10%, 20C or more acid 0-6%; the m.pt. of the compsn. being 30-40 degrees C. Prefd. compsns. contain (A) 50% pure beef fat 10% partly hydrogenated whale oil (m.pt. 38 degrees C), 15% pure palm oil and 25% pure coconut oil; or (B) 60% partly hydrogenated whale oil (m.pt. 38 degrees C). 15% pure palm oil; and 25% pure coconut oil. The compsn. replaces milk fat in feeds using skimmed milk powder with other ingredients. The fatty compsn. is balanced to provide adequate nutrition veal calves.
