Abstract

A flocculater/thickener of type comprising inner flocculating section from the bottom of which slurry passes to outer concentric decantation tank, has flocculation stirrers driven by individual electric motors to overcome maintenance difficulties and expenses of gearing and concentric shafting. Thickening rakes are moved by central shaft or by other means of connection from rotating beam driven at peripheral rail. Slurry is conveyed under skirt of flocculating enclosure over downward slope of conical baffle rotating with central shaft.
