Pesticidal compsns. comprising as active component a cpd. of formula: (where R is a 1-4C organic gp.; Z is O or S; X,X1 = halogen esp. Cl, Br) are stabilised by 0.1-10% of a cpd. of formula: (where R2 is R3 and Y3 are H, 1-6C alkyl; R4 is 1-5 halogen, 1-5C alkyl, OMe, OEt, OH, NO2 or CN and may also be vinyl, ethynyl, phenyl or a conjugated divalent hydrocarbon chain forming with the benzene ring a naphthalene gp.). The anthelmintic and insecticidal compsns. have a prolonged action. The prefd. active cpd. is dichlorvos and 1,5-diphenylpenta-1,4-dien-3-ones useful as stabilisers.
