Abstract

Device for the removal of foam from a flotation cell comprises a channel mounted above fluid level in the cell. The channel is connected by a pipe with a foam connection vessel inserted in front of a vacuum suction device. Above the channel is mounted a horizontal flat strip projecting over its edges leaving a slot above them through which the foam is sucked into the channel along either side. The device permits control of foam levels on flotation cells and takes care of removal of excess foam permitting its destruction away from the cell. The device is used in mineral dressing in the mining industry.
