Abstract

Seats comprises a rigid (metal) base with an integral contoured shock absorbent body of (self-skinned)polyurethane foam. Pref. a model seat is used to creat a cavity block of cast (epoxy) resin with a negative leather grain texture. The cavity is then covered with a seat foundation element clamped by a cover with an opening for introducing a foam forming (pref. self-skinning) mix. The opening can be plugged to allow a pressure to develop within the cavity. the mould may be lined with an independent seat cover.
