Abstract

Level meter for controlling the filling and emptying of very large tanks for the storage and handling of liquids, comprising a first acoustic transducer, pref. ultrasonic, excited at a first frequency and placed in the base of the tank, and a second transducer excited at a second frequency, situated at a level close to the max. permissible filling level of the tank, with which are associated first and second receiver assemblies resp., the outputs from which are taken to a display unit for the measured results, with a device operating this unit, activated by the state of the output of the second receiver and based on the signals emitted by the two receivers. In partic. the first frequency, is selected from the middle range and the second from the high or very high frequency range.
