Abstract

Ozone containing swimming pool water is disinfected by addition of bromide and/or iodine in quantities of at least 0.3 g/m3. The water is passed over multilayer active carbon filters in combination with a 2 stage arrangement, in the first stage of which the water is thoroughly mixed with ozone, and in the second stage in a partial flow, alkali bromide and/or iodine is added in counter flow to the water. The system comprises, reaction reservoirs and measuring units for the redox potential. The units actuate the motor regulators for the ozone pumping unit. Also included and mixing vessels for the ozone soln and bromide and iodine dosing appts. and injection points.
