Abstract

Fibres and filaments, esp. of polyhexamethylene diamine adipate, contain, integrated into the chain gps., of formula: (where R and R1=H or alkyl, pref. Me or Et; Y = NH4, Na, Li or K) to give 15-50 equivs. of sulphonate gps. and 15-30 equivs. of terminal amine gps. per 106 g. polymer and have a degree of polymsn. high enough to give a relative viscosity of >=40. The fibres give higher dye satn. levels and fast dyeings are obtd.
