Abstract

Gas-fired cupola furnace esp. for firing with natural gas comprises a chamber for heating molten metal provided with gas burners disposed above a hearth which supports a partition dividing the chamber into two sub-chambers. A shaft extends upwardly from the chamber so that the partition is directly beneath the shaft and thus can support charge materials in the shaft.
