Porous earth obtd. as in claims 1-7 of parent patent is used to replace the sand used in mfr. of cement and concrete, and in foundry moulds and cores. The resulting cements, etc. have greatly reduced specific wt. Process of parent patent consists of burning an earth mixed with a cpd. which at least partially decomposes to leave a highly porous prod.
