Abstract

A metal melt bath is vibrated by means of vibration transducers dipping into the melt from above. The transducers are either attached directly to the vibrator mounted on a horizontal plate or they are fitted to the plate which in the latter case must itself to be free to vibrate. In some cases it may be convenient to mount the vibrator on the plate or it may be preferred to transmit the vibration via rods fitted with rollers at their ends, which contact the plate.
