Abstract

The reinforcement may comprise resin impregnated paper, metal foil or mesh, glass or textile mats or cloths, and may be incorporated unsymmetrically between wood layers in a plywood panel. Glass fibre mats or cloths impregnated with x2.0 - 2.7 on weight of polyester resin freshly mixed and applied to both sides of the glass may also be used. For making flat or moulded panels in single or two stage pressing operations to achieve consolidation, curing and bonding of decorative gel coats or overlaps if used. Used for wall cladding, partitions, ceilings, van or trailer bodies or containers. Combines appearance or ease of painting of wood with greater stiffness, toughness and resistance to splitting when nailed or screwed than totally wood ply panels.
