Abstract
Appts. consists of a cooled tube which passes into furnace through sealed opening in wall, and in which is positioned an axially movable camera. The tube has, at its hot end, a lateral window for the objective lens, and a remote control system is used to trigger the shutter of the camera whilst its lens is aligned with window, and to reload the camber when it is withdrawn from hot end.
