Abstract

To minimis sputtering of the granules by rapid evolution of vapour from the lower part of a relatively thick bed of granules on to the walls of the vacuum chamber, the depth of the layer on the vibrating platform is varied, i.e. from the upstream end it increases progressively downstream e.g. by staging the platform itself so that the steps descend from upstream to downstream. A simple method of increasing nett yield from the plant.
