Abstract
The compsn. comprises (a) 30-90 wt.% oxymethylene copolymer of formula (I) (where is an integer 0-5; R1R2 are inert substituents; and n = 0 in the case of 60-99.6 mol.% of the repeating units), and (b) 70-10 wt.% multi-satd. copolymer consisting of (i) 10-80 mol.% diene-contg. cpd. and (ii) 90-20 mol.% ethylenically unsatd. comonomer reactive towards (i). Spec. (a) is suitably of m.pt. 150 degrees C m.wt. >=10,000 obtained by copolymn. of trioxane or formaldehyde and cyclic ether; (b) is a copolymer of butadiene, 1,5-hexadiene etc. with (alpha-methyl) styrene, ethylene, acrylic acid etc. Reaction is usually effected at 5-70 degrees C above the mixture m.pt. for 5-10 mins at atmos. press.
