Abstract

Inorganic fibres, e.g. glass fibres, are treated with a size containing an organofunctional silicon cpd. and/or a cationic active chromium complex organic acid, a soln. or dispersion of a silici acid ester, that can be be partially or completely condensed and preferably a silicic acid dispersion and optionally inorganic pigments othe than silicic acid cpds. Fibres trated with the size need not be desized before contact with organic polymers or prepolymers, e.g. unsaturated polyesters.
