Relatively inexpensive tooth prosthesis comprises a base made from a physiologically acceptable alloy contg. (in %) Ni 60-68, Cr 21-23, Mn 0.75-2.5, Si 0-2.5, B 0.1-2.5, Fe 1-12, and C 0.07-0.10. The surface of the base is roughened, immersed for 10 mins. in 30% HF soln. heated for 10 mins. at 700 degrees C or for 2 mins. at 1000 degrees C and provided with an adherence improving undercoat contg. oxides of Sn, K and Fe and also Si and Li, which is fired at temps. increasing from 700 to 1050 degrees C. Subsequently layers of different ceramic materials are applied, and each is separately calcined in a vacuum furnace.
