Abstract

Hyperlipemia is prevented by replacing sucrose in the diet by a mixture of glucose and an artificial sweetener selected from saccharin, Na saccharinate, NH4 saccharinate, Ca saccharinate, Na cyclamate, Ca cyclamate, glycyrrhizine, the methyl ester of aspertylphenyl amine, neohesperidine dihydrochalcone, and glycine. The mixtures are more sweet than glucose alone, the use of which was described in the parent patent. In an example, 5 g. glucose powder was mixed with 2 mg. powdered saccharin, these two pref. having the same particle size.
