Abstract

Stable trioxane copolymers are prepd. by copolymerising trioxane and a 1,3-dioxepane of formula (I) in the presence of a cationic catalyst, (where R1 and R2 are each H or CH2COOCH3, and R3 is H or CH2OCHO). The units of (I) are uniformly distributed in the copolymers, so that stable copolymers with a high strength are obtained. The copolymers can be processed to excellent products on normal moulding machines.
