Abstract

Yoghourt for therapeutic or dietetic use contg. lactobacilli from at least one strain of organism resistant to antibiotics and sulphonamides. Useful for restoring the intestinal microbial flora which may have been deranged by antibiotic or sulphohamide therapy. Normal digestion of food in the intestine is promoted. Prefd. resistant strains are from the species Lactobacillus bulgaricus, L. jugurti, L. helveticus, L. lactis, L. casei, L. acidophilus, L. plantarum and L. leichmanii. Non-resistant strains of lactobacillus and Streptococcus lactis or S. thermophilus may be added.
