Abstract

The sheet metal stamping machine installation using metal strip feed material is constructed so that the material feed-in mechanism, which is in front of the stamping press proper, comprises a step motor for the intermittent driving of the feed-in rolls, thus forming a mechanically separate unit from the stamping press. The step motor employed is controlled by electrical impulses, each impulse generating a fixed arc of rotation. Linkage between press and feed mechanism is via a cam-controlled inductive switch linked to the cam shaft of the press. There is thus no mechanical link between press and in-feed mechanism.
