Abstract

A device to sense thermal elevations in low temp. applications, e.g. semiconductor units, comprising a small, ampoule containing a solidifiable liquid and a permanent magnet. The liquid is frozen below the temp. of the application and an attractively disposed magnet placed outside the ampoule. The complete unit is fitted to the low temp. working zone, elevations in temp. melt the ampoule liquid allowing movement of the internal magnet towards the attractive external magnet. The movement is visually or electromagnetically worked to an alarm system.
