Abstract

Prodn. of amines by reaction of alcohols with ammonia or primary/secondary amines at 100-250 degrees C and a pressure of at least 10 atm. in the presence of hydrogen in which the catalyst contains Co, Mn, Zn, Cr, Ag and Cu or a mixture of Ni and Cu as well as B(OH)3 or a mixture of B(OH)3 and H3PO4. The product amines may be used to produce emulsifiers and pesticides, or as vulcanisation accelerators.
