Abstract

Granulating press comprises a cylindrical die-plate and a fluted roller. The constituents of the mixture to be agglomerated are fed into a hopper and pass along a mixing tunnel to fall, by a vertical passage, on to an endless screw which feeds them to the inside of the die-plate, which is pierced with holes. A fluted roller, mounted inside the die-plate, forces the material through the holes, when it falls into the ejection hopper. The fluted roller and the endless screw are driven by a motor through a trapezoidal belt and a variable speed pulley. The speed of the machine can be adjusted, whilst the press is in operation, according to the power consumed and the appearance of the product obtained.
