Abstract

A former having a yarn supporting grill arranged within a cylindrical casing has a conical male element at one end and a conical female element and the other end to allow several formers to be assembled together and to-end as disclosed in the parent patent. The male element is provided ith a circumferentially extending series of protrusions which allow a resilient coloured reference ring corresponding to the dye colour to be secured over the male element to prevent accidental wrong assembly, and pref. the casing adjacent the male element has a channel in which a first yarn turn may be located.
