Abstract
Workpiece supports are transferred from one path to another above a series of treatment baths in a lifted position transversely perpendicular to the direction of movement of carriers. The supports leave their normal path on an auxiliary rail system mounted on the carriers and are then taken up by another carrier at the same level circulating above an analogous and symmetrically disposed series of neighbouring vats via a drive mechanism which may be electro-mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic.
