Abstract

Anti-friction plastics material comprises pref 4 to 78% wt polyimide, 2 to 95% wt grindable solid lubricant and 1 to 20% wt polyacrylate or aromatic polyamide. This antifriction material can also contain 20 to 40% wt metallic powder. The antifriction plastics material is used in manufacture of bearings and gears running under dry conditions and has the advantage of maintaining low friction over a wider range of temp (e.g. 70 degrees to 120 degrees C) than previous materials.
