Abstract
The particulate charge to be melted in a Pb and Zn shaft smelting furnace is prepd. by compressing oxidised materials containing Zn and Pb at high temp. and pressure so that bigger pieces are obtained. Specif. the pressure is 157.5 - 315 kg/cm2.
