Abstract

Corrosive fluid is contained in a resistant agitator reservoir linked, via a pipe fitted to the base, to a large volume bulb, to prevent liquid passing into the main pipe work during operation, and thence to a U-tube filled with inert liquid acting as a pneumatic trap. The U-tube is joined to the outlet duct of a sealed reciprocating bellows. The action of the bellows withdraws and replaces liquid in the reservoir without contact of the liquid with the bellows mechanism.
