Abstract

A liner of flexible sheet material (0.2-0.3 mm thick polyethylene) fitted in containers with either an inflatable double wall or inflatable tubes positioned between the liner and the container walls and base in the lower half of the container. Valved sleeves allow suction tubes to fill or empty the liner with granular or powdered material in the usual way. Material normally left on the base on either side of an evacuation pipe can be displaced on to the pipe for removal by inflating the double walls or backing tubes. Properly emptied containers may be re-used with different contents for return journeys.
