An antioxidant additive for a lubricant (mixture) contains an oil dispersion of a metal borate and an aromatic compd. in which an OH or SH gp. is directly joined to the aromatic ring. the metal is an alkali(ne earth) metal; the mixture is suitable for synthetic or mineral oil.
