Abstract

Plastic shoes are made by (1) filling a shoe-shaped mould to the height of the heel portion with a heat-fusible composition (vinyl plastisol), and heat-gelling the composition therein, (2) pouring additional composition into the mould and heat-gelling it to complete the shoe structure, (3) removing excess composition from the mould, (4) flocking the interior of the shoe to form a moisture-absorbing layer, (5) heat-curing the shoe, and (6) removing the shoe from the mould and treating it with a solvent to remove excess composition therefrom and impart a bulbous configuration to the shoe collar.
