Water-soluble, pesticidal, benzimidazol-carbamates Cpds. are of formula (I): (where R is one or more optional substituents including halogen, aryl, alkyl, alkoxy, CN, NO2, R1 = alk(en)yl, aralk(en)yl, cycloalkyl(alkyl), (hetero)-aryl or heteroalkyl, all opt. substd. by halogen, alkoxy, NO2, CN, dialkylamino or an N-heterocyclic gp. attached by its N-atom; R2, R3 singly = alkyl or together may be a divalent hydrocrbon gp. opt unsatd. opt. interrupted by an S or O atom; A is divalent satd. 1-10C hydrocarbon gp.), and their addition salts with acids, and (thio)phenols. The cpds. are water-soluble pesticides, antifungals, insecticides and nematocides, also having other industrial and agricultural uses e.g. treatment of packaging material, and fruit during transport and storage.
