Abstract
Clean surfaces of metal such as copper and its alloys are prevented from tarnishing by a mixture from (A) a non-ionic or anionic surface-active material and (B) a cpd. contg. a glutamate radical, a copolymer of methyl vinyl ester and anhydrous maleic acid and/or a mixture of such a copolymer with triazobenzene. Pref. the surface-active material is a non-ionic nonylphenylpolyethylene glycol ether.
