Abstract

Dispersibility in aqueous and plastic media is improved by treating the pigment with 0.05-5.0 wt.% siliconate(s) chosen from alkali-metal methyl, ethyl-, propyl-, butyl and phenyl-siliconates, preferably sodium methylsiliconate. The pigment is preferably graded for size, then subjected to a supplementary siliconate treatment after optional treatment with another inorganic or organic agent. It is suitable for paint, plastic materials enamel paint etc.
