Abstract

Method for disintegrating tungsten carbide, titanium carbide and tantalum carbide for use in cutting tools consists of immersing these materials in relatively weak phosphoric acid at room temperature to dissolve the cobalt. The particles are freed in virtually the pre-sintered size and shape and are separated from the acid by centrifuging or filtering.
