Abstract

Release agents for polyurethanes contain metal salts of organic acids, the metals being Ca, Mg, Sr, Mn, Al, Ba, Bi, Ag or Zr and the acids being stearic, oleic, naphthenic, behenic, erucic or montanic (pref. behenic erucic or montanic) acids. The metal salt may be used in a wax carrier at a concentration of 0.2 to 10% or in an inert liquid at a concentration of 2 to 20%. The preferred acids may be emulsified using a neutralising agent which is pref. ammonia, and amine or a metal hydroxide.
