Abstract

Metallic bushings and a glass tube (pump tube) are secured to prevent movement and fused together in a sinter mould, with glass powder, to a tube base. A metal spike (Ni), contained in a central clearance of a sinter mould part, has a free part slightly reduced towards its end and is inside the pump tube to prevent the inside wall of the tube distorting. The spike material has a coefficient of thermal expansion > the glass used for the pump tube (pref. 1.2 to 4 times).
