Abstract

Mechanical transmission from an electric motor to an agitator in a reaction vessel, by way of a reduction gearbox and a pressurised mechanical seal housing, is constructed in sections to facilitate rapid dismantling for inspection and servicing with a minimum requirement of tools and tackle. The drive can be mechanically disconnected just above the seal housing so that the housing may be removed laterally.
