Abstract

Frame elements comprising a core of high strength plastic e.g. hard-PVC which on its outer surface is provided with shaped grooves or channels, into which facing panels or strips of a decorative plastic can be slotted. The decorative panels need have no structural strength and are made from a plastic which is easily coloured or provided with a required decorative finish e.g. cellulose acetobutyrate. The voids left between the profiled core frame and the facing panels may be filled with a suitable insulant e.g. foam plastic or asbestos, etc.
